This is a song I wrote for the funeral of my friend Gustav...
And for mine as well...
Oh Gus,
My dear friend,
It’s the evening of the day.
Ain’t cry...
Alone...
Tonight...
Goodbye my friend...
We’re all gathered here to say so long to our friend Gustav,
Who passed away last week due to a confusion.
And thy soul’s gone...
Oh Lord please forgive all his trespassed, as well as mine,
‘Cause the future’s untrue.
Bless us all...
‘Cause God only knows and maybe me too when our time’s come.
But deliver us from evil... Amen.
Now I feel...
Your absence is really killing me!
I grabbed my pipe and turned it on,
It never had such a nasty flavour since October 1994.
And when the crows were flying around,
Above the tree where we discovered our world...
A young man told me you can’t eat the seed of an apple...
And my desire was opposed!
And the song was too long...
Somebody get me a drink and make me forget all my duties,
‘Cause what I’m about to do requires more courage than what it did last week...
Goodbye...
Goodbye...
Goodbye...
Goodbye...
In this letter I’ll explain,
That all I did was a mistake.
The time has come to catch you up right there...
And run through the hills of heaven...
Forever with you...
The end...
